TRIP OVERVIEW
The PSA PG 2025 will be held over 8 days and 7 nights, in Sri Lanka. Over the course of these 8 days, we will visit various picturesque locations including two UNESCO World Heritage sites, a wildlife sanctuary, an elephant orphanage, witness several cultural performances organized specially for the event, and witness one of the main cultural pageants where you can witness caparisoned elephants, various drummers, dancers and musicians parade the streets at night in a colorful ceremony. This is a unique opportunity to witness various traditional costumes, dance styles and performances, music and musical instruments, rituals and performers, all in one place giving a glimpse of the vibrant Sri Lankan culture to capture mesmerizing images. The tour will cover approximately 700 kilometers of travel in Luxury Coaches / Buses, spending 1 day in Negombo, 2 days in Dambulla, and 5 days in Colombo.
The event will take place from 7th February 2025 to 14th February 2025.

SRI LANKA WEATHER
Sri Lanka is a tropical country located 880 km north of the equator. Average day time temperature in Sri Lanka range between 28˚C to 35˚C (82˚F – 91˚F) with warm humid weather across the country during the month of February, with the central hill areas cooler due to their altitude. Generally, dry weather is experienced in February which is in between the two monsoon seasons (south-western monsoon between May and July, and north-east monsoon between October and November). However, intermittent rain may occur due to unexpected changes in regional climatic conditions.

Camera / Lens Options
- Use Two Cameras – one with Short Zoom and one with a Long Zoom.
- A wide angle zoom lens such as 16-35 or 17-40 mm range is recommended for long exposures inside the Rangiri Dambulla Caves.
- Very long lenses will not be necessary, unless you plan to take part in any extended tours.
- We suggest to keep your kit light to make yourself comfortable during the busy schedule all days.

Sri Lanka electricity supply is 230V 50Hz AC
The Government of Sri Lanka introduced new regulations to standardize sockets and plugs used for commercial and domestic use in 2016. Accordingly, only 13A Type G plugs which have flat pins in a triangular formation as shown below, (sometimes referred to as square pin) and sockets are permitted to be used in all new installations. As it is a gradual transition for the existing installations, you may find other types of plugs and sockets, mainly 5A and 15A round pin plugs (type D) and sockets, in some locations too.

RESTRICTIONS
The following restrictions will strictly apply to visits to Rangiri Dambulla Rock Temple, the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic (Dalada Maligawa) in Kandy and any other temples.
- Visitors to Temples are not permitted to wear shoes / sandals or any other footwear within the temple precincts. (Facilities are available to deposit your footwear at the entrances to these sites)
- Visitors must be properly attired when entering these precincts. No shorts / sleeveless tops or other body revealing / inappropriate attire are permitted. (https://sridaladamaligawa.lk/faq/)
- No headgear (hats /caps / scarves etc) permitted inside the temples.
- DO NOT take photographs of a person with their back to a Buddha statue.
- These are strictly no smoking zones.
Please help maintain sanctity of these locations and be mindful in your quest to capture images. Do not disturb / obstruct any worshippers, clergy or religious activities being performed during the times of visits.
Subject to above restrictions,
- Wear comfortable light clothing. Sri Lanka typically has a high humidity, average ranging from 60% to 95%.
- If you sunburn easily, wear long sleeved shirts and comfortable long pants with a hat.
- Use sunblock during the day (recommended with minimum SPF 50+).
- Sunglasses that block UV rays are helpful especially on sunny days. A hat with a wide brim can prevent approximately 50% of UV radiation from reaching the eyes. UV radiation is most intense during 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Take precautions and utilize sun safety practices.
- Wear comfortable shoes or hiking boots. A Goretex (waterproof) liner for breathability helps if the weather is damp.
- Morning and nights are relatively much cooler compared to the daytime.
MEDICAL
- Please bring adequate quantities of your personal medication.
- Common medicines are available at pharmacies but some prescription medication may or may not be available especially in more remote locations.
- If you are on prescription medication, please have a physical copy available with you, should you need to replenish during the stay.
- Access to medical / health facilities are available in public hospitals or private medical centers / hospitals around the country. Please carry copies of any medical records should you think it being necessary in an unforeseen situation.
- If you are allergic to any drugs / food or insect bites, please have your anti-allergy drugs at hand always, and also please let the organizers know well in advance of any known allergic conditions.
